Painting Enquiry

Helen was born in Glasgow in 1937. When she left school she joined the design studios of James Templeton and attended Glasgow School of Art in the evenings from 1952 to 1960 – studying drawing, still life and portraiture under Trevor Mackinson and William Gallagher.

Continuing her career, she became a documented designer in Aubusson and Beauvais – travelling extensively throughout the world. Helen’s designs can be seen in the Waldorf Astoria, the Tumberry Hotel and the San Francisco Opera House. She eventually became a full-time painter.

She is a member of:

  • The Paisley Art Institute, and a past Vice President
  • The Glasgow Society of Women Artists.

Helen is a much respected Scottish Colourist. Winner of many awards, Helen’s work is highly sought after and very collectable. She shows regularly in Scotland and London and we are extremely privileged to exhibit her delightful work here.
