Painting Enquiry

Now regarded as one of the world’s leading natural history illustrators, Chris spent many years perfecting his artistic skills both in his highly detailed natural history illustrations, and his more impressionistic wildlife and landscape paintings.

He has created to date in excess of thirty thousand paintings and illustrations reproduced in over 300 books, numerous magazines, calendars, greetings cards, posters and jigsaw puzzles. He has exhibited regularly in the Mall Galleries, London, many parts of the USA and in China – hence he has paintings in public and private collections all over the world.

Publishers he has been commissioned by include the BBC, Harper Collins, AandC Black, Random House and various Wildlife Trusts – The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and the Field Studies Council in the UK. He has recently been working on a series of paintings for Morro Bay National Park in California, USA.

A keen entomologist, Chris always includes a moth or a butterfly in all his paintings – although they are sometimes difficult to find.

For Sarah Samuels Fine Paintings, Chester, I have mounted and framed for the first time sketch book work undertaken before producing a larger work – often as a commission or part of a much larger piece. I do hope you enjoy these delightful little pieces.

Please also enjoy two Still Lives I am adding into this Exhibition.
