Vivienne grew up in the Lake District where she acquired her deep love of mountains and wild places.

She developed the artistic skill to portray this in paint. Encouraged by her family and local artists, she began exhibiting with the Lake Artists Society. In 1971 Vivienne gained a degree in Manchester, after which she settled in Lancashire, then Cheshire to have her family.

During this time, she exhibited her paintings with the North Wales Watercolour Society and the Institute of Watercolour Painters at the Mall Gallery in London, and selling her paintings in Scotland, Cumbria, Yorkshire and in Cheshire with Sarah Samuels.

Vivienne moved back to her beloved Lake District in 2000, where she has established herself as one of the nation`s finest mountain painters. She now works in oils as well as watercolour and has visited and trekked in the Swiss and French Alps, Austria, Norway and in the Himalaya up to Everest Base Camp in order to collect new exciting mountain experience and wonderful images to paint.

The Lake Artists Society welcomed Vivienne back into the fold and she not only exhibits with them twice yearly, but has recently become their President.
